    Job Description:

    Administration Officer – Physiotherapy Department

    • Part time, Fixed Term (24 hours/week - Long Service Leave Cover)

    About the Role

    This administrative officer position is responsible for performing a wide range of administrative and project work duties, to assist in the smooth running of the physiotherapy department. The position will also be responsible for coordinating a number of departmental portfolios, based on the successful applicant's skill set.

    Applicants must have excellent communication and computer skills. Flexibility, the ability to make decisions and an exceptional team player are required in this role. Knowledge of databases and medical terminology would be an advantage.

    Duties include

    • Effectively communicate ideas and concerns to Physiotherapy Manager in a professional and proficient manner
    • Provide leadership and coordination of designated projects and portfolios, such as external contracts and billing
    • Assist with administration duties relating to Physiotherapy students
    • Implement data collection systems to support the evaluation of designated projects
    • Update staffing lists and maintain the department structure chart
    • Produce and circulate monthly reports relating to the completing of patient related statistics for physiotherapy staff and students.

    Classifications for this position will range from HS2 - HS21 ($66,768 - $72,134 per annum, pro rata for part time).

    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and successfully as part of a team
    • Demonstrated ability and desire to take part in quality improvement activities and research activities as appropriate.
    • Experience in and knowledge of administrative support roles and functions
    • Experience in and knowledge of working in a health care setting (desirable)
    • Current national criminal history check or willing to obtain

The Department works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment and a range of therapeutic services to optimise patient care and maximise function.
