    Description

    PSP are currently working with a busy council in Melbourne's South East on the recruitment of a Senior Biodiversity Officer.

    Reporting into the Principal Natural Resource Management Officer you will provide technical advice to support statutory and strategic planning processes related to biodiversity values and native vegetation. You will also provide specialist advice to support the development and implementation of policies and strategies related biodiversity values and native vegetation.

    This is a contract role until June 28th, while the role is recruited on a permanent basis. Can offer full-time of part-time hours.

    Requirements include:

    • Recognised tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental management, or related field with relevant experience or lesser formal qualification with substantial experience.
    • Demonstrated experience responding to environmental planning referrals focused on biodiversity values and native vegetation.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of environmental management plans, native vegetation management and protecting and enhancing biodiversity.

    Benefits include:

    • $60-65p/h + super
    • Open to full-time or part-time hours.
    • Initial contract for three months but could be extended.
