- Lead Majarlin's nursing and midwifery team by providing appropriate mentorship, support, and professional development.
- Support the team to ensure clinical placements are of exceptional quality.
- Grow partnerships between Majarlin, WA Country Health Service, and other health service providers to progress education and support programs for undergraduate, postgraduate, and early career nurses and midwives in the Kimberley.
- Support Majarlin's cultural security team who provide cultural security training to all students.
- Support Majarlin to develop and implement activities in the Kimberley community to showcase and attract local students to consider health professions.
- Contribute as part of Majarlin's senior leadership to represent nursing and midwifery, ensuring smooth integration between Majarlin's nursing and midwifery programs, allied health programs, research projects and operational activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance on strategic and operational matters to ensure optimal integration of Majarlin and the School of Nursing & Midwifery teaching activities.
- Engage in Majarlin research activities in alignment with its strategic research plan.
- Support accurate and timely reporting to ensure compliance with University and Commonwealth governance.
- Engage with Notre Dame and other universities nationwide to grow placement opportunities.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience and post-graduate qualifications related to clinical practice, education and /or leadership (done so in rural and remote settings being highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience in delivering education for professional development.
- Ability to contribute to Majarlin's rural and remote research agenda.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people.
- Qualifications at Masters or Doctoral level (or significant progress towards) highly regarded.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting leadership position. Principally you will lead our departments highly qualified team of Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Facilitators, supporting them to deliver exceptional clinical education to Nursing and Midwifery students undertaking clinical placements throughout the Kimberley region. In addition, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for this team to grow educational opportunities, collaborate with clinical partners in the region, and engage with universities nationwide looking to place students with our department. This position contributes to the leadership of our department, providing strategic direction and integration with the rest of Notre Dame across its three national campuses. Finally, within this role you will develop your academic career by engaging in research and/or the development of teaching resources. ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Since its inception in 1989, Notre Dame has become a leader in higher education and now has over 12,000 students enrolled across its three main campuses in Broome, Fremantle, and Sydney. Notre Dame is an Australian University which embraces both the modern Australian university tradition and the ancient and esteemed traditions of Catholic universities both in Europe and North America.
The Broome campus sits on Yawuru country in the Kimberley region of north-western Australia, in a tropical bushland setting. Programs are offered in Nursing (Diploma and Bachelor pathways), Medicine, Education, and Aboriginal Studies. The Nulungu Research Institute, and School of Nursing and Midwifery, are co-located on the campus, and all departments work closely and collaboratively as part of a close-knit rural university community.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: MAJARLIN KIMBERLEY CENTRE FOR REMOTE HEALTH
Majarlin Kimberley Centre for Remote Health (Majarlin) is a Commonwealth-funded University Department of Rural Health (UDRH). Majarlin's central office is based on the University's Broome campus and sits as an academic institute within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery and Health Sciences. Majarlin's aim is to contribute to the development of a capable and culturally responsive Kimberley health workforce through inspiration, education, innovation, and research. To achieve this, Majarlin facilitates the delivery of high-quality Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health clinical placements, education, and professional support and engages in collaborative research to progress the rural health evidence base.

Benefits
Majarlin is bound by its Commonwealth contract and as a result only able to offer Fixed Term contracts until the end of its current 3-year funding cycle. We have every expectation that this contract will renew for 2025 and Majarlin staff will be offered a new contract for the next funding cycle.
