    About the opportunity

    The Research in Implementation Science (RISe) Group, based in the Charles Perkins Center, at the University of Sydney is looking for a Research Assistant to assist with a new project aiming to explore how electronic medical record could be redesigned to better support health professional learning and reflective practice. The Research Assistant will be supervised by Anna Janssen. The Research Assistant role will involve undertaking needs finding work with health professionals to understand how the design of current electronic medical records supports and hinders reflective practice.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • assist with ethics and literature reviews
    • assist with recruitment of project participants
    • gather data through the use of interviews and questionnaires
    • assist with the running of workshops
    • prepare and send out communications to stakeholders
    • provide research administrative support for the area
    • assistance with qualitative data analysis on this project, and related projects exploring how the health workforce uses digital technologies.

    About you:

    • prior demonstratable experience undertaking research interviews and conducting qualitative data analysis skills
    • prior familiarity with health information systems will be advantageous but not essential
    • an interest and enthusiasm in learning new methods
    • ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal work
    • has advanced skills with the full range of Microsoft Office Suite
