    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contracts Advisor to join the Thiess team located in West Perth. This role will be providing procurement / contracting services to Thiess Australia West Operations.

    About The Role

    You will be responsible in implementing and maintaining effective management and administration of subcontract /supply packages to control spend and limit risk across Thiess Australia West projects.

    Additionally, you will:

  • Prepare and issue tender packages to obtain competitive pricing from reliable suppliers/subcontractors
  • Record and maintain Contracts Portal to control Contract numerical system and contract expiry
  • Assist in developing a business case, recommendations, and justification to obtain approval to proceed with the works/supply
  • Negotiate with Suppliers/Subcontractors on terms and conditions to maintain Company standards
  • Execute fully completed Agreement to Suppliers/Subcontractors to secure commitment
  • Complete Supplier Set Up form and gain approval to confirm details of and obtain approval for new supplier. Liaise with the Supply Chain team where required
  • Resolve any contract disputes between the Subcontractor/Supplier and the projects
  • Act on Notices and Claims from Subcontractors/Suppliers to eliminate risks and costs to the projects
  • Formal close out of Contracts including identification of critical activities and deliverables, prepare completion certificate, release of retention, and return of securities including JDE change requests
  • Assist the Projects in closing out Contracts as per the procedure set up in the Contract to maintain consistency and mitigate risks to the Company
  • About You

    You will have relevant experience in Procurement and Contract Administration in Mining and /or Construction disciplines necessary to achieve the confidence and rapport in dealing with internal stakeholders. In addition, you will have;

  • Procurement or contract administration or similar roles within mining or heavy industries
  • Experience in drafting contracts and will have previously been involved in the tendering and procurement of mining services
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent key stakeholder management and strong communication skills
