    South Coast Radiology (SCR) is seeking a motivated, career driven Medical Receptionist to join our busy team at John Flynn Hospital.
    As the face of our organisation in this specialised role, your focus will be on delivering the highest standards of services to our valued patients, referrers, and customers within our boutique Nuclear Medicine Specialist department.
    Working Monday to Friday (38hours) predominantly from our John Flynn Hospital suites, with the flexibility to travel to our Southport rooms occasionally when required to cover leave.
    This is a unique and exciting role that will provide you with the opportunity to increase your knowledge and fast-track your career in Radiology Administration.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

    • Greet all patients on arrival in a courteous, professional, and sensitive manner ensuring their visit to South Coast Radiology is a positive experience.

    • Registering patient and processing relevant paperwork on arrival.

    • Answer the telephone promptly and responding to all patient/referrer enquiries in a courteous, professional, and sensitive manner.

    • Scheduling of appointments using our state-of-the-art RIS system

    • Determine and inform our patients of correct preparation requirements prior to their arrival

    • Manage and protocol appointments to maximise clinic efficiencies.

    • Quoting relevant fees and Medicare rebates to patients

    • Manage and process all Private, Medicare, DVA and third-party insurance claims.

    TO BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS ROLE

    • Experience in a customer focused role highly desirable

    • Detailed understanding of medical imaging terminology or willingness to learn

    • Demonstrated computer software and keyboard skills essential

    • Excellence in customer service delivery in order to exceed patient and referrer expectations

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to assist in showing our patients care, compassion, and empathy

    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in order to effectively optimise allocated appointment slots

    • Strong multitasking skills showcasing the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at a time whilst working well under pressure

    • Strong attention to detail and focus on completing high quality work

    • An ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment

    • Excellent time management and organisational skills with ability to meet targets

    • Be committed to your own professional development, including embracing ongoing learning opportunities as part of your professional development

    • EFTPOS and cash handling skills

    • The flexibility to work across multiple sites when required
