About the role and area
We are looking for a Census Digital Service (CDS) Operations Officer who will be responsible for supporting the CDS Operations Manager (EL1) with planning, preparing, managing and optimising CDS operations for the 2026 Census. This may include:
As part of preparations for the 2026 Census, a public facing test will be held in September 2024, followed by an Operational Readiness Exercise in 2025, ahead of the Census Main Event in 2026.
The Census of Population and Housing provides a snapshot of Australia. It shows how our nation changes over time, helps estimate our population and informs critical decisions that guide our future. The next Census will take place in 2026.
