    About the Role
    As a Website and Digital Content Adviser, you will ensure our council's digital platforms are efficient, accessible, and user-friendly. Your responsibilities include:

    1. Ensure Council websites are managed in an efficient and supportive manner

    • 3 x daily checks of website approvals, ensuring content is in line with AA Accessibility standards, quality control checked, functional and in line with style guidelines.

    • Ensuring the website enquiry inbox is monitored an actioned for more complex requests from stakeholders

    • Providing any additional training, support or guidance for users

    2. Supporting ongoing improvement of website content to improve UX and SEO

    • Delivering ongoing improvement with quality assurance and improving our Accessibility rating with the support of tools such as Monsido, agency reporting and global best practice trends

    • Facilitating exercises such as IA reviews, functionality requests and other website related requests

    • Partnering with stakeholders and content owners to review, approve and update their existing website content, ensuring a focus on improving accessibility, readability and practical functionality

    • Delivering recommendations on SEM activity to complement the organisation's digital marketing activities and objectives

    3. Providing best practice advice on website management, and developing and campaigning suitable guides, strategies, policies and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency

    4. Providing effective and practical support, expertise and knowledge Partnering with IT to deliver functionality and integrated tools where required, and supporting the communications, marketing, digital, IT, internal comms and other teams and functions across the organisation.

    5. Proactively delivering training and support to stakeholders and teams Fostering an environment of ongoing skills improvement across the website author base and encouraging growth in digital competencies across the organisation
    6. Supporting the management of digital assets such as Google Places, Google Maps and other third-party platforms such as QR Code generators, Open Forms etc.
    7. Support the digital and communications teams in other areas such as social media management, monitoring, scheduling and content creation.
    8. Other duties as directed within the skills and capabilities of a position at this level.

    Skills & Experience

    Experience:

    • Experience in the creation of website content in line with Accessibility standards (AA)

    • High level skill in delivering SEO and optimised content

    • High level of skill in delivering digital elements of marketing campaigns such as tracking pixels and in-depth performance reporting

    • High level of stakeholder engagement and agency management experience

    • High level of experience developing policies, procedures and guides

    • High level of experience providing training and support materials

    • High level of personal organisation and an understanding of low-level project management

    • Experience in working in a complex organisation

    • Demonstrated understanding of best practice in website management, digital content development, communications and digital marketing

    • Experience in working in a multidisciplinary team and across multiple projects

    • Deep understanding of different learning styles and methods of facilitating website upskilling

    Software and website

    • Publish, monitor and provide strategic advice on web content
    • Produce meaningful reporting and insights

    • Support authoring network through quality control and training program

    • OpenCities CMS experience is a plus, but not essential

    • Hootsuite experience is a plus but not essential

    • Google places and Google Analytics experience

    • Experience managing workload through Trello, ASANA, Planner or other PM tools

    Personal management skills:

    • Skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising one's own work

    • High level of communication skills to both stakeholders, management and peers
