    The Accessibility Skills Training (AST) division of WISE Employment is looking for a casual Hospitality Trainer in Hampton East, Melbourne to deliver SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality to a small cohort of students living with an intellectual disability.

    Join a team that is passionate about helping people gain employment. As a Trainer in our AST team, you will deliver high-quality, engaging training to students aligned to the accredited course or certificate the students are enrolled in.

    You must be available on aThursday in order to be considered for this role.

    In this role, you will:

    • Deliver training in line with published 'AST Business Rules'
    • Assist with the recruitment and entry processes of students
    • Prepare session plans/teaching notes, handouts, examples of activities, assessment tools and tasks in line with the relevant training package or accredited requirements, in compliance with AST Policies/Procedures or other applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Record students' attendance
    • Complete student assessments and submit learner results into AST's Student Management System (aXcelerate) in line with AST processes
    • Implement Learner Satisfaction / Feedback Surveys at mid-year and end of year of the course.
    • Participate in moderation/validation process as directed by supervisor
    • Optimise the use of technology to enhance the quality of delivery and assessment for learners
    • Support students undertaking work placement and complete workplace assessment as required (where applicable)
    • Undertake relevant professional development activities each year to ensure own industry and educational skills, knowledge and experience are maintained
    • Be proactive in risk identification, notification and management
    • Contribute to continuous quality and service delivery improvement through the organisation

    What will you bring to the role?

    • Quality training to all students in your classes, which supports their further study and employment goals (measured via Student Surveys and feedback)
    • 100% compliance across all Trainer and Student documentation in accordance with the ASQA Standards for RTOs and Skills First Standard VET Funding Contract
    • Create and foster a positive and safe culture with students and staff across AST.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all students and clients that results in a minimum of 85% positive response in student surveys.
    • Undertake a minimum of 2 professional development activities in the next 12 months that are relevant to your delivery sector and VET requirements.
    • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
    • (Desirable) Relevant qualification in the vocational area that the Trainer will be delivering in (i.e. Hospitality).
    • (Essential) Current and demonstrated industry experience in the vocational area that the Trainer will be delivering, including best practices.
    • Demonstrated experience in delivering vocational courses and/or qualifications.
    • Demonstrated experience in delivering to various cohorts of students.
    • Demonstrated ability to undertake validation activities of assessment tools and complete student assessments.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

    • Full Australian working rights, ability to satisfy national police check and Working with Children Check requirements.
    • Current driver's license where required.
