About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to join our team and ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems across our food processing operations.

This role focuses on promoting a safe working environment while also managing environmental compliance. The successful candidate will be integral to driving compliance across the site, liaising with key stakeholders, and supporting all staff in meeting statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor contractor health and safety.
• Lead and advise the HSR committee.
• Analyze WHS data and recommend risk strategies.
• Coordinate WHS audits and ensure compliance with WHS standards (BSafe and ELO).
• Implement and review the EMS for compliance.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and support audits.
• Promote sustainability and ensure legislative compliance.
• Maintain and improve Food Safety and Quality Systems.
• Ensure compliance with legal and customer food safety standards.
• Implement HACCP, GMP, and other quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Oversee PPE usage and ensure proper application.
• Report hazards, accidents, and incidents, and champion safety across all departments.

Requirements:

• Cert IV in WHS or higher qualification.
• Experience in the food processing industry, particularly in poultry and feed milling (desired but not essential).
• Proven ability to manage contractor relationships and investigate workplace incidents.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with WHS software systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Effective communication with staff at all levels and external regulatory bodies.

Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum.
