    Description

    About the role:

    As Production Engineer you will:

  • Ensure that plant and equipment is operated safely within target control parameters
  • Ensure efficient operation of process equipment, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Measure and report on critical control parameters both in the field and remotely
  • Troubleshoot process problems to identify effective solutions and action accordingly
  • Provide technical support, information and recommendations to engineering, maintenance, line management and production operations
  • Provide technical input for capital projects, equipment and plant upgrade selection and evaluation
  • Identify and communicate trends and issues in a timely manner with proposed solutions
  • Work closely with control room personnel to provide both guidance and direction or make process interventions as necessary to meet targets
  • Use statistical process control to measure, understand and reduce process variability
  • Provide regular updates to operations team and report on plant status and performance
  • Update target control parameters to optimise operations and improve output through the results of detailed data analysis
  • Monitor clinker, lime and cement chemistry trends, taking corrective action if necessary
  • Investigate process upsets to determine root cause, make and implement recommendations
  • Conduct and report on daily field inspections of the plant and daily thermography scans
  • Ensure the successful execution of process trials
  • About you:

  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or equivalent with experience as a Process Engineer in the cement industry including clinker kiln process optimisation is essential
  • High safety awareness and demonstrable commitment to safe operations
  • Proven experience optimising production performance within the cementitious industry
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing process technology improvement initiatives
  • Possess high energy and positive 'can do' attitude traits, taking pride in delivering results
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal including effective report writing abilities
  • Ability to interact and develop good relations with all teams across the plant
  • Proven willingness to lead by example and do the hard yards to get results
