    Summary This position is part of the Department of Defense .

    The incumbent will serve as the DTRA Australia Integrator, who plans for and performs extensive analysis and reviews of issues that are of interest to DTRA, and other U.S.

    agencies and organizations.

    Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY AUSTRALIA INTEGRATOR you will be responsible for the following duties:

    The DTRA Supervisor Australia Integrator will have the authority of fulfilling the responsibilities and functions as the DTRA Director's principal representative to Australia and their staff's in the planning or execution of military operations, consistent with functions and responsibilities directed in DTRA's Charter.

    The DTRA Supervisor Australia Integrator will assist staffs in understanding CBRN-D capabilities provided by DTRA, establishing liaisons to facilitate the integration of DTRA's CWMD capabilities with AUS planning and execution, as required, relative to the Agency's combat support mission.

    The DTRA Supervisor Australia Integrator advise and assist DTRA planners with design, planning and execution of the Agency's involvement in AUS joint training events and joint exercises sponsored by the CJCS and the CCDRs.

    The DTRA Supervisor Australia Integrator will ensure DTRA's capability to execute its combat support missions in support of key AUS plans; and provides feedback to the Director through joint after-action reports, informing of potential impacts on the Agency's ability to provide required combat support for operating forces, and recommendations to resolve or mitigate the shortfall.

    The DTRA Supervisor Australia Integrator will be responsible DTRA employee embedded in the AUS staff, the employee maintains situational awareness of AUS activities and operations, attends AUS and DTRA battle rhythm events and OPTs, and ensures DTRA Directorates are apprised of and tracking relevant WMD geopolitical activities in the area of responsibility.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the GS-14: You must have one year Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private/military sector) giving the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position.

    GS-14 Supporting a Major Command or Combatant Command's policy, programs, plans, projects and command structure in an effort to counter a variety of improvised threats; such as, countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) and countering a variety of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats.

    Planning, organizing and conducting analytical studies, developing plans and policies for use in actions supporting a Major Command or Combatant Command.

    Providing advice in trans-regional and local improvised threats that impact the supported customer's Area of Responsibility.

    GS-15 level: Supporting a Major Command or Combatant Command's policy, programs, plans, projects and command structure in an effort to counter a variety of improvised threats; such as countering weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and countering a variety of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats.

    Planning, organizing and conducting analytical studies, developing plans and policies for use in actions supporting a Major Command or Combatant Command.

    Providing advice and assistance to host nation Ministry of Defense staff on countering CBRN threats. Providing expertise in in trans-regional and local improvised threats that impact the supported customer's Area of Responsibility.

    Determining goals and objectives needing additional emphasis, and determines the best approach for resolving budget shortfalls and long-range staffing requirements.

    Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
    Leading a Team/Project Military Planning Policies and Concepts Project Management


    INFORMATION FOR OVERSEAS:
    Overseas tour of duty for is projected to be 36 months. You may be required sign a Transportation Agreement.

    - Incumbent may be subject to the 5-year foreign area limitation according to the DoDI V1230, dated 26 July Applicants who are currently stationed overseas, must have enough time to meet the initial tour stated above.

    Applicants who have returned from an overseas tour, and have not been physically present in the United States (CONUS) or Non foreign area for 2 continuous years, may require a waiver.


    NOTE:
    If you have not completed 5 years overseas and return to a CONUS assignment, that time spent overseas counts towards the 5 year limitation, unless you have been in the States for at least 2 continuous years

    - Medical Care:

    Applicants who have family members with special medical needs should ensure that prior to accepting a position overseas their family members' medical needs can be met.

    Access to care in a military treatment facility may not be available to civilian employees except on a space available basis.

    Consequently, host nation medical facilities may be the only care available. The availability and level of care at host nation medical facilities will vary by location.

    - Applicants hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are US citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.

    - May be subjected to a variety of environmental conditions typical of the overseas areas in which traveling, to include the potential for exposure to acts of terrorism.

    - Payment for travel and transportation expenses may be authorized.

    This includes government paid travel transportation, shipment and temporary storage of household goods, and possibly other entitlements based upon the JTR and agency policy.

    You may be required to sign a transportation agreement. Most civilian permanent change of station travel entitlements are taxable.

    Additional Information Requires travel to both national and international locations approximately 20% annually including OCONUS travel and potential travel to hostile fire zones.

    This is a drug testing designated position.

    The incumbent is required to pass a pre-employment drug test prior to being appointed and submit to random drug testing for the duration of their employment.

    This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.

    Civilian personnel of the Department of the Defense are not exempt from this provision. Therefore, as a condition of employment, selectee will be required to sign a form acknowledging understanding of this provision. When overseas, the employee should reside within a reasonable distance from their place of work.

    Employee is not required pass a medical examination as a condition of their employment, but must receive all required immunizations for the overseas/deployed locations.

    When deployed, the employee may be required to wear chemical protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, shield, and protective body armor.

    Incumbent should complete the DTRA Improvised Threat Analysis Course, or equivalent course, within eighteen months of employment, if not completed previously The employee is not required to annually file an OGE financial form, but should report to their supervisor if a perceived conflict of interest develops.
