    Join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients through personal care and nursing support within the Specialised Transitional and Restorative Service at the Repat Health Precinct

    The Specialised Transitional and Restorative Support (STaRS) Service includes a 40-beds ward known as Vita STaRs and a 26-bed ward known as Bangka Strait which are both located at the Repat Health Precinct.

    The service offers patient centred, restorative care in line with the patients' goal and a range of therapies (such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy) by using a low intensity, holistic approach. Patients of the STaRS service are offered a low-acuity restorative program of care in a home-like environment with a focus on function to support safe transition back into the community after an acute episode of care. Bangka Strait also offers support for NDIS clients.

    Assistants in Nursing (AINs) support Enrolled and Registered Nurses in the delivery of general patient care and undertake basic nursing duties including assisting patients with their activities of daily living. Employees at this level work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse as part of the multi-disciplinary care team.

    Employees at this level are accountable for their own actions.

    To apply for an AIN position, applicants must meet one of the below criteria:

  • Enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level; or
  • Undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses; or
  • Holds Certificate III or IV in one of the following health related disciplines: Basic Health CareAged CareHealth Services assistant (Qualifications to include elective units recommended for AIN Acute care)Home and Community careIndividual Support work.
