    Description

    Solicitor position in Criminal Law (Up to 2 years PAE )Job DescriptionKiki Kyriacou Lawyers is seeking an energetic, self-motivated and committed lawyer to join our small criminal law practice in Sydney CBD.

    Our practice consists of one principal lawyer and a practice manager.
    We are offering a full-time position for an immediate start.

    The position will include the following duties:
    Preparing and summarising briefs of evidence.
    Assist in instructing counsel at court.
    Providing advice and representation to a diverse client base.
    Appearing in court in all criminal jurisdictions both in the Sydney metro and beyond.
    Prepare court/legal documents.
    Drafting correspondence to clients and to other stakeholders.
    Liaising with clients in conferences both in custody and face to face.
    Efficiently undertaken legal research as required.


    Essential criteria:


    High level written communication skills including ability to prepare court documents, maintain file notes, summarising evidence, taking notes during trials, drafting correspondence to both clients and other stakeholders.

    High level interpersonal communication skills including ability to liaise with clients from diverse backgrounds, government departments, the judiciary, police, barristers and other key stakeholders.

    Ability to work independently and be self-motivated as well as under supervision and able to take instructions.
    Experience and ability to develop professional client relationships and an understanding of meeting client expectations.
    Strong time management and organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing priorities.
    A willingness to ensure that work is completed when required.
