    Group Operations Finance is part of the Financial Services Division and provides financial support to the Board, other business units (BU's) and the Group's shareholders. The team's areas of focus include performance management, advice and governance, reporting to the Board, coordinating the Group's financial plan and forecasts and advising on business cases for internal projects and acquisitions and divestments.

    The Group Support Services Finance (GSSF) team is part of Group Operations Finance, partnering with senior leadership of the bank's Financial Services, Marketing, Strategy, Risk, Human Resources and Legal functions. The GSSF team manages the end to end finance functions for these businesses, and collaborates regularly with other Business Unit and Group finance teams throughout the organisation.

    The purpose of the role is to provide finance support to Legal & Group Secretariat and Group Marketing & Corporate Affairs.

    This is a 12-months secondment opportunity for an internal candidate, or a 12-months maximum term contract for an external candidate, with the potential for permanency to be confirmed in mid-2025.

    Do work that matters

    The role includes, but is not limited, to the following:

    • Management reporting: successfully own the month-end process, complete monthly submissions to Group Finance, and report the monthly result to senior business stakeholders across the Legal & Group Secretariat and Group Marketing & Corporate Affairs portfolio
    • Planning & forecasting: manage the revenue and expense budgets and forecasts for Legal & Group Secretariat and Group Marketing & Corporate Affairs
    • Financial control: conducting detailed reviews of balance sheet and P&L with a mindset to continuously improve, transform and maintain a strong financial control environment
    • Business partnering: work closely with the core team to track performance and milestones, and apply financial and accounting acumen to assist with decision making including engaging SMEs within Group Finance where required
    • Decision support: review forecasts and constructively challenge assumptions where required

    We're interested in hearing from people who have

    • Tertiary Qualifications – hold a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or an equivalent business-related discipline
    • Accounting qualification – CPA or CA
    • Experience in management or financial accounting
    • Commercial acumen and strong analytical skills
    • High levels of motivation and resilience
    • Excellent customer & continuous improvement focus
    • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
    • Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution
    • High degree of competence in Excel
