    SWIAA are looking for maintenance team leader who is passionate about making a difference and committed to improving the environment of the elderly community to join our growing team.

    About the Role:

    The Maintenance Team Leader is an integral role ensuring that our buildings and grounds are presentable and that routine and reactive maintenance of our assets is efficiently carried out.

    The Maintenance Team Leader will provide guidance to a small maintenance team and will coordinate and supervise works of staff and contractors on a daily basis, ensuring safe practices are adhered to, and that works are carried out in a timely manner.

    Founded in 1992, SWIAA (Southwestern Italian Australian Association) was originally formed to provide aged care and retirement living accommodation to the Italian Community in the Southwest Region of Sydney.

    You will be someone who aligns with our organisational value - Residents are our priority. You'll bring to the role a compassionate, supportive and caring nature, along with a level of essential requirements including:

    • 3 years experience in a similar role.
    • Ability to prioritise workloads and lead others.
    • Experience supervising contractors.
    • Capacity to take initiative.
    • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety Principles
    • Show care and compassion in the execution of their duties
    • Follow lawful and reasonable directives, written and or verbal, including the adherence of policies, procedures and SWIAA's Values and Code of Conduct

    Desirable:

    • Trade qualifications such as horticulture, building, electrical, plumbing
    • Current motor vehicle drivers licence
    • Computer literacy including MS Office and industry specific software applications.
