An existing opportunity has arisen for a driven Financial Accountant to join the team. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer you will lead a small team of motivated Financial Accountants in the delivery of financial services to an array of internal customers. The successful candidate will thrive on partnering and mentoring with the organisation to ensure legislative compliance and sound financial management.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a finance team with proven outcomes.
• High level understanding of Accounting Standards and the Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting, including the preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
• Demonstrated understanding of compliance requirements for Goods and Services Tax (GST), Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
• Demonstrated high level understanding of modern financial systems.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with good analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WH&S and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience in the delivery of programs to children, youth and adults
  
  Experience in the delivery of staff training
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in an accounting related discipline and extensive experience in senior finance role.
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience of financial management and statutory reporting.
