    About the opportunity

    The University of Sydney has an exciting role in our events team for an enthusiastic self-starter to coordinate and plan a range of events within the Advancement Portfolio. The successful candidate will be providing support to our events experts who have a wealth of knowledge in the industry and are eager to share their experience.

    As a member of the events team, your busy days will include stakeholder management, event coordination support and data administration. You will work with various university staff and alumni, getting involved in all sorts of exciting events from new to golden graduate celebrations, dignitary donor and themed events.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • support the events team on stakeholder liaison, event coordination and customer data administration
    • play a key role in event invitation and registration
    • successfully assist in end-to-end delivery of events including all communication, project management and briefing staff, with support from the events manager and coordinator
    • assist with the coordination of venue, speaker, and guest registration for events (as directed)
    • engage with suppliers including AV, catering and decor
    • coordinate volunteer requirements.

    • positive problem solver with an ability to foresee potential issues and create solutions
    • goes the extra mile and enjoys thinking creatively for the success of events
    • experience and/or the ability to work with technology in the form of data in CRMs and event registration systems
    • sound judgment and pragmatism
    • a patient and friendly demeanour, with an exceptional ability to remain calm under pressure
    • experience in events advantageous, but not essential.

    Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
