ABOUT YOU:
Following the strong growth of the Lark Whisky brand, we are on the hunt for a self motivated Production Manager, to join and lead our production team over multiple sites across Tasmania.
You will align the production teams to ensure seamless and efficient outputs from the various manufacturing processes (distilling, coopering, bottling) in order to achieve the ambitious growth goals of Lark ensuring no compromise on safety or quality.
We are seeking an experienced, knowledgable and passionate individual, to live and breathe the Lark brand.TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
Minimum Experience required:
Managing Cooperage – with a focus on refurbishing ex fortified, and ex bourbon NMS filling
Distillery – Overseeing production plans, experience managing distilleries producing 500,000+ Lals per year
Whiskey maturation warehousing – Management of bond stores and maturing liquid, with a focus on quality.
Overseeing all blending processes.
Experience in delivery and maintaining a health and safety framework
At least 5 years of distillery management experience.
Nice to have:
Experience managing teams in multiple geographic locations.
Track record of Improving safety on sites to match and exceed legislative requirements
Knowledge of hazardous areas for flammable products
Experience in implementation of Lean principle
Traits and skills needed for success:
Great people leading skills
Balancing multiple priorities & flexibility for changing priorities
Good communication
Experience in improving the whisky manufacturing process and reducing its environmental impact
Safety first mindset
Flexibility in production but without compromising quality
Managing to a budget covering multiple sites/departments
Strong compliance management skills of various production site areas
Experience and strong understanding of maintenance and engineering requirements of a distillery
Experience with Worksafe requirements of distillery operations.
Experience for project planning and management and CI.
Qualified and experienced in conducting audits
Experience in HACCP
At least 3 years managing teams.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensuring a safe environment for employees and visitors
Health, Safety & Quality compliance
Drive CI culture empowering team to improve safety, productivity and quality while reducing cost
Build & deliver NMS and cask plan based off blending and long term forecast requirements
Ensure delivery of NMS/Casks/Blends on time to plan and on budget
Drive collaboration between spirit teams (Distilling/Warehouse/Coopering) to best deliver goals seamlessly
Control capex and spend management
Ensuring best quality product
Cooperage:
Working to create an efficient manufacturing system and mindset
Cross training staff
Managing production targets for pot still and column still
Growing a CI culture on site
Encouraging an atmosphere that promotes innovation
Warehousing:
100% accuracy on blending from casks to finished products.
100% stock take accuracy

This role will be located at both Cambridge and Pontville, on a full time basis, based on a 38 hour week.
