ABOUTPERTH OFFICE
South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD.
The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical.
Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent full-time position, Monday through Friday.
The ideal candidate will be based at our head office in Perth.
We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home)
The Analyst Commercialwill be part of the business development team, which seeks to create, unlock and protect the value of South32's Australia's operations and new business opportunities.
You will assist with identifying, evaluating, prioritising, and negotiating commercial opportunities on a value and risk basis to support the Company's business plan.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:Providing commercial support on complex commercial opportunities across the portfolio, including (but not limited to) the economic evaluation, development of transaction structures, development of negotiation mandates, co-ordinating cross-functional project teams, engaging with external counterparts
Types of engagements include:
Greenfield exploration 'farm-in' arrangements, joint ventures, innovation partnerships, equity investments
Expand or acquire necessary additional capacity or derive commercial benefits from excess capacity of existing assets
Explore opportunities to generate value through partnering/collaborating with adjacent operations or external parties to maximise utilisation of assets, equipment or infrastructure
Ensure timely access to land/ mineral rights for the development of mining areas and infrastructure to support the long-term mine plan
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Minimum of 5 years in a commercial environment.
M&A and transaction advisory services experience is preferred.
Experience in developing commercial strategies and supporting high-value strategic negotiations.
Combination of Strategic and innovative thinking capabilities, with balanced commercial judgement
Understanding of transaction structures and transaction management
Effective communication skills, including experience in presenting to and influencing senior management.
Strong ability to thrive in a team environment and be part of multi-disciplinary execution teams
Knowledge of discounted cash flow and valuations
Qualifications for this position are:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance, Law, or related disciplines
