    Description

    The role:

    • Leads and manages the coordination of patient care within the units in accordance with best practice principles and within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework.
    • Provides leadership in contemporary nursing practice and promotes an environment conducive to innovation and change, within designated units and in collaboration with Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
    • Manages the financial, physical and human resources of the units to achieve agreed service outcomes within the allocated budget.
    • Monitors, manages and reports on the performance and activity levels for each unit.

    Inpatient Mental Health facility, for consumers aged 18 to 64. We cater for consumers with primary mental health diagnoses such as depression, Bi-Polar Affective Disorder, Schizophrenia and Borderline Personality Disorder. In line with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standard 2: Partnering with consumers, we actively encourage involvement from our consumers, families, friends and other supports networks. Our unit aim is to promote patient independence and reintegration back into their home and community.

    Details of Appointment

    Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

    • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

    Salary: $126,411 to $132,325 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

    • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

    Eligibility:

    Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

    1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

    Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

    1. Relevant psychiatric nursing experience and/or is credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses or equivalent
    2. Relevant postgraduate qualification

    The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‐employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

    1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    2. crimes of violence
    3. sex related offences
    4. serious drug offences
    5. crimes involving dishonesty
    6. Identification check
    7. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
