    About the Role

    As our Head of Fraud Risk Management, you'll join at team that is the cornerstone of our commitment to safeguarding our customers and communities. In this newly created role, you will lead the charge in the fight against internal fraud, scams, and financial crime. You will establish and lead the Fraud Centre of Excellence, including internal fraud, ensuring comprehensive risk identification and mitigation.

    Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing internal fraud prevention strategies and controls to minimize financial losses and protect the bank's reputation. You will support and drive the BOQ Group strategy for fraud risk across all classes, setting out future needs and capabilities.

    You will create frameworks based on contemporary research to continuously improve fraud prevention measures whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Tech, Legal, and Compliance, to ensure a coordinated approach to fraud prevention and response. You will get involved with analysing fraud-related data to identify root causes and recommend improvements to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities. And of course, records You'll maintain accurate records of fraud incidents and provide regular updates to senior management on fraud trends, risks, and mitigation efforts.

    We're looking for a strategic leader with a relentless focus on customer outcomes and a champion of a customer-first approach. You'll join us with a strong knowledge and understanding of internal fraud detection and prevention techniques, including AI and advanced analytics. Coming armed with a deep understanding of crypto-assets and connected payments, you seek out the risks as they present to financial services and act

    Leading a team comes naturally to you, where you pride yourself not just on growing and coaching teams, but your proven leadership will showcase how you foster a strong risk culture across teams, ensuring compliance and timely investigations.

    Experience-wise we are seeking a professional accredited in financial crime and fraud investigations, along with proven tenure in a similar Senior or Head of role, within finance and banking sector – that's right, your senior experience and knowledge of strategies to mitigate fraud and scam risk will be instrumental in defining and operationalizing the fraud risk strategy for the BOQ Group. Your expertise will enhance our fraud detection and prevention capabilities, directly contributing to the safety and trust of our customers.
