Asset Protection Permit Officer - Victoria, Australia - Randstad
Description
The Local Victorian Council we are partnering with is looking for a Permits Officer to support the Asset Protection and Permits team.
This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across Council and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including Community, Residents, Councillor's, Public Authorities, and Building Industry.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Protection of Council Assets and Control of Building Sites Local Law 2011, Amenity Local Law. Some knowledge of the Road Management Act 2004 and Road Management (Works and Infrastructure) Regulations 2015 is preferred.
Ability to read, design, implement and assess traffic management plans.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the role of Permits Officer, including Public Authority Consents.
Ability to deal effectively with property owners, builders and developers in an assertive, resilient, but respectful manner seeking cooperation in complying with Local Laws, permits, consents and bond conditions.
Strong ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally, and gain cooperation and assistance from internal and external stakeholders and customers.
Proven experience and skills with Microsoft Suite.
Experience in a technical or building or civil engineering environment preferred.
Traffic Controller experience would be highly regarded
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated understanding and experience of the role of Asset Protection and Permits functions and Local Laws application in relation to construction work
Ability to deal effectively with property owners, builders and developers in an assertive, resilient but respectful manner seeking cooperation in complying with Local Laws, permits, consents and bond conditions
Completion of Traffic Management Course with practical experience desired.Traffic Controller experience would be highly regarded.
