    33-hour work week | based in Victoria, BC

    INTERNAL POSTING – Full-Time Position

    The BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) is an innovative organization working collaboratively with its member centres and partners to support urban Indigenous people as they realize their vision of health, wellness, and prosperity.

    The BCAAFC is seeking a qualified Indigenous individual to assist the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program Coordinator. This program provides grants to Indigenous families living in BC to access doula supports. The goal of the program is to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing the cost barrier to accessing doula services.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support the Doula Grant Program Coordinator using established criteria and guidelines
    • Promote the program in First Nations and urban communities
    • Maintain adequate files and records for reporting purposes
    • Maintain a database of pre-registered Doulas throughout BC
    • Intake data to build a body of evidence on the effectiveness of the program
    • Assist with Indigenous Birth worker event planning

    Knowledge and Abilities

    • Strong administrative and organizational abilities, with experience managing files
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • The ability to work well under a supervisor and independently as necessary
    • Strong time decision-making and problem-solving skills
    • Ethics and integrity, working with confidential materials and information
    • A high energy level with a determined and productive attitude

    Qualifications

    • Administrative experience
    • Significant experience working with Indigenous communities and Indigenous service organizations
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook
    • Must be able to provide a current criminal record check

    Candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
    • Be located in Victoria, or able to travel to Victoria daily to work in office
    • This position is intended for Indigenous, Inuit or Métis persons only.

    Salary ranging from $57,500-$62,500 on your skills and experience

    Permanent Position, subject to funding. 33-hour work week.
