    Where the team fits in

    The Commercial Analyst sits within the Finance and Business Services Group, headed up by the Chief Financial Officer. The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of the REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Workplace Experience & Procurement, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Corporate Communications.

    This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the 'behind the scenes' of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction.

    What the role is all about

    The Commercial Analyst will be a key business partner working within the Commercial Finance team. They will provide analysis and insights with a view to maximizing commercial outcomes.

  • Track, analyse and report financial and business performance that is impactful, useful and timely that enables effective business decision making
  • Own forecast & budget processes/models, working closely with Leadership teams
  • Support the monthly financial reporting processes, and ad hoc financial analysis, insights & recommendations
  • Model new initiatives and work with the business to deliver financially viable strategies on new business models
  • Establish relationships within Finance and cross functionally to be an effective business partner. Listen to others, contribute by sharing & educating, collaborate to achieve the best commercial outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement in operating processes to promote fit-for-purpose reporting, system and operational efficiency
  • Proactively identify and manage financial risks and opportunities with the business
  • Demonstrate an adequate level of understanding of relevant professional accounting and regulatory standards and control environment that facilitates REA in conducting its operations and fulfilling its statutory obligations
  • Who we're looking for

  • Someone with a few runs on the board – experience within Big 4 or industry experience
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Analysis, modelling, budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong initiative; willingness to take ownership
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, numeracy skills and accountability
  • Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and stakeholder management
