    The Role
    This role is located in Harman – ACT. In this role your duties may include:

  • Assist in the support and development of the commercial team
  • Provide advice and support to procurement and contracting activities across HQJOC. This requiring an understanding and ability to provide advice on the procurement process, commercial risk, legal and contract performance.
  • Coordination and support of regular reporting (ie. finance, contract effectiveness, modern slavery). Work collaboratively with vendors and SME's (internal and external) to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Support the management and transition of the Simulation Support Panel (SSP) to the Defence Support Services (DSS) Panel.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for managing current and future commercial matters. Including contract management governance.
  • Ensure compliance with Commonwealth and Defence policy across all procurement and contracting activities.
  • Coordination of communication to personnel regarding any changes to procurement and contract management policy and procedures.
  • This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.     The J7 Executive Team has a key role in the raise & sustain of the J7 Training & Simulations systems that support 'Joint Collective Training (JCT)'.

    The section scope covers the following J7 priorities:

  • Manage the budget and associated transactions
  • Provides guidance on contracting processes
  • Provides guidance on procurement and financial processes
  • Provides guidance and assistance on travel policy and bookings
  • Supports the Branch in conducting exercise planning and execution events
