    Forklift Driver / Yard Hand

    Murrell Freight Services is a well-established, family-owned business in Wollongong that has been a cornerstone of the Illawarra region's road freight and logistics industry since 1972.

    We are seeking an experienced and qualified Forklift Driver / Yard Hand to join our dedicated team.

    About the Role

    • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts for loading, unloading, and moving freight within the yard and warehouse.
    • Perform various manual tasks including lifting, stacking, and sorting freight, assisting with stock transfers, and moving equipment as required.
    • Keep the warehouse and yard clean and organised, including sweeping, cleaning, and maintaining a hazard-free environment.
    • Assist with the efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, support drivers with load restraints and tarping, and move trucks and trailers within the yard when needed.

    The primary goal is to ensure that vehicle turnaround times are minimised, contributing to the smooth flow of transport operations.

    Requirements

    • You hold a current forklift license.
    • MSIC card is highly preferable but not essential.
    • You have experience in a fast-paced transport and warehousing environment, with a strong understanding of transport and safety compliance.
    • Strong time management skills and a positive work ethic.

    This role is essential for the efficient loading and unloading of freight at our facilities, as well as the effective planning and consolidation of freight in the depot and warehouses.
