    About the Role:

    SoftLabs is seeking Geospatial Analyst –SFIA4 for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in Canberra, Brisbane

    Requirements:

    Geospatial Analyst to undertake servicesthat include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Lead location-based analytics functions inHealth in conjunction with Health Analytics Branch, consistent with Health'sStrategic Intent.
    • Coordinate and liaise with key geospatialstakeholders across Department of Health.
    • Work with end users to identify GISrequirements, technical issues and training needs; analyse current businessprocesses and recommend best practice solutions.
    • Conduct technical troubleshooting forgeospatial related matters arising in the EDW domain and provide technicalinsight and recommendations regarding spatial data and spatial metadatastandards.
    • Assist in day-to-day operations of GISfunctions in Health, determining geospatial architecture priorities, developingguidance, providing geospatial assistance on project related activities andundertaking troubleshooting analysis and resolution for incidents and where newGIS capability is required.
    • Provide support and technical adviceregarding geospatial analysis techniques, GIS analysis tools available, and theuse of location data with geospatial toolsets available in the Enterprise DataWarehouse (EDW).
    • Liaise with IT Operations, GISAdministrator and relevant stakeholders regarding appropriate scheduling forsoftware upgrades, patching and installation of new software in variousenvironments required for adequate maintenance and functioning of Health'sgeospatial toolset.
    • Responsible for managing Health's MyEsri/IQOffice account and associated online training services for Departmental staffand preparing Quick Reference Guides and material required to support Health'sgeospatial users.
    • Responsible for development of strategiesfor integrating GIS applications with other applications in the EDWenvironment.
    • Responsible for preparation of appropriatedocumentation such as design specifications, user guides and handoverdocumentation.
    • Manage productive stakeholder relationshipsand associated risks;
    • Develop an agreed work plan including keyperformance indicators and outcomes
    • Regular reporting against performance andeffort; and
    • Contribute towards knowledge and skillstransfer.
    • The specified personnel may be redirectedto assist or work on other projects/activities outside of the branch of initialassignment.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver Geospatialsolutions and support through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) andAgile development practices and processes (for each of the specific rolesdefined)
    • 5+ years' experience working and exhibitingknowledge (for the specific role defined)
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills andcapacity to communicate and work effectively within a multi-disciplined andblended team environment.
    • Relevantqualifications/certification/accreditation (for each of the specific rolesdefined)
    • Experience and knowledge of Enterprise DataWarehouses (EDW) and associated technologies (such as Teradata, Informatica,Hadoop, SAS, Cognos, Qlik, Oracle etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to query and interpretdata using efficient and effective SQL and provide sound advice on complexdata/information related matters to deliver quality solutions.
    • Practical skills in developing datamanagement design artifacts, including developing mapping documents for buildsin support of business processes and objectives.
    • Demonstrated ability in the developmentand/or directing the creation of efficient, maintainable and cost/effectivedatabases.
    • Demonstrated skill to prepare and/or directthe creation and maintenance of data management documentation.
    • Experience in the following,

    o SQL for data analysis
    o Data modelling - dimensional and ERD, and awareness of data vault

    o Data management principles such as Metadatamanagement, Data governance and Data quality

    • Inspires leadership through the ability todefine and meet the expectations of the role.
