Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.

Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation.

Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent, you will provide technical support across all areas of accountability within the Open Cut CHPP teams.

You will have significant involvement in life cycle planning with a focus on safety, costs, reliability and efficiency.

To be successful in this role you will possess tertiary or equivalent qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with mining industry experience in a similar role being highly desirable.

Functional knowledge of processes and an excellent understanding of maintenance management systems is a must.

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a proactive attitude towards safety, superior analytical and organisational skills and a solid work ethic.

With a technical grounding, you will be confident in providing electrical compliance advice.

You will have a sound knowledge of Safety systems, OH&S legislation, and exposure to facilitating governance and compliance to the relevant Australian Standards.

EEM qualification or the ability and willingness to gain this qualification is highly desirable.

You will have the option to work a compressed 9 day-fortnight roster, giving you time to explore the beautiful Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef on your days off The mine site is only a quick 5-minute drive from the camp, where your accommodation and meals will be provided.
