    About the role

    Providing a podiatry service to the patients in both inpatient and outpatient areas at Royal Adelaide Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital within the context of a multi-disciplinary team. The podiatrist is responsible for the clinical assessment, intervention education and planning in wound management and high risk foot management. Working within the departmental protocols, procedures and guidelines and contributing to service improvement activities, the podiatrist is responsible and accountable for patient safety and quality by providing safe and effective care.

    To be successful in this role you must communicate effectively with a broad range of people both written and verbally. Having high level interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with patients, professional and administrative staff, you will be self-motivated and use initiative. You will have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and prioritise work appropriately. Demonstrating well developed negotiating, decision making and problem solving skills, you will have a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. You will manage confidential and sensitive information, and undertake and participate in service approval activities.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
    • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
