    About the branch

    The Commission's Investigations Branch is made up of auditors, analysts, accountants, case managers and investigators responsible for undertaking highly technical anti-dumping and subsidy investigations. Investigations Units engage with a wide range of stakeholders and prepare reports that apply relevant legislation, policy and practice. Investigations Units conduct detailed research and complex analysis of financial and economic data.

    The Investigations Branch has multiple APS4 positions available. This is a junior position. Full and extensive specialist training will be provided. An enthusiasm for learning and an understanding of the time taken to learn a specialist role, is essential.     What you will do

    The role of a APS4 Junior Analyst/ Case Support is to assist the Case Manager and Senior Case Investigator by contributing to core outputs for the case. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams and learn to contribute to Anti-Dumping and countervailing investigations.

    In this role, you will learn to:

    • examine and analyse trade, business, industry and financial data
    • draft reports and briefing papers
    • manage the use of case management records (e.g. evidence, analysis, risks and issues, briefing notes, meeting notes etc.)
    • draft case communications (circulation of critical information, formal advice received, meeting requests, agendas, plans, relevant submissions etc.)
    • work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams of investigators, policy, quality assurance and legal advisory staff
    • liaise with a range of domestic and international businesses.

    There is a high degree of direct engagement with Australian and international industry, including some opportunities for domestic and international travel to conduct verification activities.

    You will be supported by a comprehensive training and induction program to help ensure you succeed in the role.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.

    Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
