    About the department

    The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine opreates a clinical service providing extensive inpatient and outpatient care. The Respiratory Laboratory is a key component of the department and provides a comprehensive, tertiary level, diagnostic laboratory service to the Austin Hospital and wider community. The domicilary oxygen clinic operates within the Respiratory Laboratory and provides a comprehensive service covering all needs relating to home oxygen for both inpatietns and outpatients referred to this service

    About the role

    This full-time fixed term position (4.5 months) will be primarily responsible for the day to day running of the oxygen clinic, which involves performing oxygen assessments, providing education and advice regarding supplemental oxygen. Oxygen assessments include performing arterial blood gasess and six minute walk tests as required. The successful applicant will work closely with the respiratory physician responsible for the oxygen clinic to provide outstanding care to patients referred to this service.

    About you

    The person we are looking for must be commited to a high standard of patient care and have the ability to work both independently asnd as part of a team. They must have excellent communication skills being able to interact affectively with staff, patients and external health care agencies. They must possess a relevant undergraduate qualification and have significant knowledge of respiratory physiology and lung function testing.
