    Chandler Macleod is looking for and experienced Capital Procurement Specialist to join our client a well-known and respected brand within the mining industry, with multiple positions available. The Capital Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting and managing a broad range of procurement and joint procurement and business activities Capital Project team . These activities can range from commercial risk, working capital improvements, contract execution and supply chain effectiveness whilst focusing on reducing spending.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Positively support and facilitate the procurement function for capital projects including customer & supplier queries which may arise from the associated sourcing activities..
    • Identify and qualify suppliers to execute projects from launch through scoping and evaluation to implementation in a timely fashion.
    • Monitor supplier performance to ensure conformance to agreed contract terms and leading the resolution process where issues are identified including dispute and claims resolution.
    • Provides support and assistance to the Procurement Manager - Capital to ensure strategies developed for projects are prioritised, aligned and co-ordinated with the overall program of work for the Capital Procurement Management team.
    • Proactively develop and maintain key supplier and customer relationships.
    Key Competencies
    • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Management or Finance
    • Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience in similar Procurement or Commercial role
    • Sound business knowledge in a manufacturing environment, as well as an understanding of commercial and business issues in customer and supplier relationships
    • Demonstrated experience developing procurement strategies and negotiating contract terms and conditions
    • Proven ability to develop, maintain and influence business relationships with a range of stakeholders
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong time management skills, capacity to multi-task and work autonomously with little direct supervision
    • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex issues
    • Proven ability to identify and manage risks to business policies and procedures
