    About the role:

    We are on the lookout for an Accounts Officer to join our Finance team on a 6-month Part Time Secondment with the possibly to extend. This role holds a crucial position within the Finance Team, assuming responsibility for managing the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions across all State Sport Centres Trust venues. This part time role is fundamental to upholding the financial integrity and performance of the organisation, ensuring meticulous accuracy, high quality, and readily available audit trails. This opportunity is an ideal platform for growth and development for an internal candidate with a strong interest in finance or someone seeking practical experience while studying finance or a related field.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Process invoices, employee expenses, and customer refunds promptly and accurately
    • Review and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy in data entry
    • Obtain necessary approvals in a timely manner to facilitate prompt payments
    • Code purchase orders and invoices accurately and promptly
    • Monitor outstanding invoices, following up diligently to ensure timely payments
    • Keep track of creditor accounts to ensure payment deadlines are met
    • Prepare weekly payment run
    • Resolve or escalate creditor and supplier queries promptly
    • Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and monitoring aged debtors
    • Support month-end tasks such as reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
    • Manage vendor administration, ensuring completeness and accuracy of vendor information
    • Provide supporting documentation for audits
    • Contribute to broader finance projects and initiatives as required
    • Support the Finance Team and other business units as needed
    • Perform any other duties as assigned

    Skills & Required Knowledge:

    Required:

    • Working with children's check
    • National police check
    • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
