    Description

    The Role:

    The Department require a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will be a technical specialist within the ICT Operations team.

    This position will be responsible for managing and resolving complex technical incidents and problems within the ICT environment, as well as providing technical advice.

    The ideal candidates will have experience with both on premises and cloud technology and will work across teams with other technicians in network, storage, platforms, backups or unified communications. Having skills or experience across these areas will be highly advantageous.

    The successful candidates will also have a range of generalist skills, and will be able to work collaboratively with business, other system owners and administrators to progress technology initiatives.

    Primary Duties:

    The successful candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge and experience:

    • Should have skills and understanding of:

    Senior Infrastructure Engineer

    Microsoft hybrid and full cloud technologies, Microsoft Server build and deploy, and Windows Powershell will be advantageous.

    • Contribute and lead solution design and delivery, in conjunction with other Information Services Branch Architects, and the Senior Engineer.
    • Producing and reviewing project/services delivery documentation including Architecture, Designs, 'As built documentation' and Operating Procedures.
    • Building and Maintaining Stakeholder relationships (Including Executives, Business Representatives, project Managers and staff across government).
    • Coordination of projects under the direction of the Senior Engineer and Infrastructure Manager
    • Complete a diverse range of technical tasks within a secure environment.
    • Work as part of a high functioning multi-skilled team.

    You'll be great in this role if you have:

    • Demonstrated capability to scope, plan and execute on small projects – including managing, risks and issues, approvals and the balancing of multiple competing priorities.
    • A working knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), the Protective Security Framework Policy (PSFP), and other International Standards (ISO's).
    • A background in architecting and delivering; end user compute, cloud, network and security solutions
    • Experience in communicating solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Strong background in Windows and Linux server environments

    Location and Contract Term: This role is Canberra based. Initial 6 month contract. Extension options pending budget and delegate approval.

    Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain is required.
