    Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.

    The Management Accountant coordinates reporting, presentation and analysis of cost drivers, forecasts and budgets to respective business units. Further responsibilities include report design, analysis of key performance indicators, financial modelling, financial presentations and management reporting through the Finance Business Partner.

    The ideal candidate should possess considerable budget, forecasting and management accounting experience and proven experience in analysing data and interpreting financial information effectively. They must be a self-starter who can work autonomously with limited supervision, pro-actively manage and effectively prioritise workload, perform self-review for quality output and delivery, ensuring deadlines are met.

    Demonstrated use of accounting software, advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills is essential. Strong business acumen and technical skills with the ability to implement and develop quality policies and procedures.

    Moreover, superior communication and written skills are necessary for effective engagement across all levels including Senior Management.

    Relevant experience in a utility or similar environment, along with post graduate qualifications in a related discipline complemented by Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant membership is highly desired.
