    Senior Mine Planning Engineer

    About the role
    We are currently seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our busy and successful team at Rosebery.

    Reporting to the Principal-Strategic Planning, this position is focused on providing support to the operation to deliver against physical plans and strategic objectives by providing timely and workable mine designs and schedules within the 3-year timeframe.

    Successful applicants may choose to be residential in Rosebery, Drive in/Drive out (DIDO) from Tasmanian locations or Fly in/Fly Out (FIFO) from within Australia.

    With demonstrated experience Senior Mine Planning Engineer within underground mining, you will have well-developed skills and personal attributes including the following:

    Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or similar degree
    Significant practical experience in mine planning and managing teams
    Sound understanding of underground mine ventilation, geotechnical and mine geology
    Essential to the role is your hands-on experience with Deswik CAD, Sched, MDM and/or other mine planning software
    Excellent communication and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to lead an effective team


    Key responsibilities will include:
    Enhance and maintain a formal mine planning and design and approval process commensurate with the complexity of the operation which ensures that the geotechnical considerations and design recommendations are adequately considered in all design phases (e.g.
    Development Layouts, Stope size and shape, etc)
    Coordinating with scheduling team for development of a robust schedule that provides direction for the 3-year budget and 13 week forecast, ensures continuity of production, and identifies risks and opportunities within the medium to long term planning horizon
    Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to ensure their understanding of the Budget and Quarterly Forecast schedule tactics, risks and priorities
    Contributing to the generation of Life of Asset (Lo A) designs and schedules
    Developing a productive and professional rapport with the technical services team and provide technical mentoring to graduates and entry level technical staff
    Infrastructure planning and design that supports the 3-year schedule
