    About the role

    The OSHC Educator will support the Nominated Supervisors with the day-to-day operations of before/after school and vacation care programs.

    They will provide supervision and duty of care to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in their care. This role contributes to the planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of educational and engaging activities and experiences that support children's learning and development within a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment.

    This role is a part-time or casual role to support our growing services in the Georges River City Council, Sutherland Shire Area.

    • Assist in the development, planning and implementation of quality and compliant programs for children.
    • Contribute to the assessment & planning cycle, evaluation and improvement of programs
    • Foster a rich play environment consistent with the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care
    • Actively supervise children and maintain appropriate supervision ratios to ensure children's safety and wellbeing; redirect as necessary
    • Maintain an awareness of children's needs, wants and abilities and facilitate the achievement of these within the activities and program
    • Instruct and monitor children in the appropriate use of equipment
    • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for children
    • Understand, role model, and be guided by positive behaviour guidance policy, assisting children to develop such skills
    • Support the implementation of induction and transition programs
    • Work collaboratively with families, providing regular feedback and information regarding the care and specific needs of their children
    • Perform all other reasonable additional duties as requested by management

    About You

    • You have knowledge and understanding of all legislation relevant to OSHC and understanding and demonstrated commitment to EEO, Access & Equity including working with and supporting the inclusion of children with additional needs,
    • You have experience working in a school, aged care and/or education centre
    • You have a Diploma or Certificate IV Children's Services, OSHC, Recreation; or Degree or Diploma Primary Teaching
    • You have First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis management certification
    • You operate well in a team and alone, great communication skills.
