    Overview

    Armys highest priority projects. The project is currently progressing towards First Pass.

    The project will, in two tranches of work, build and expand upon on in-service capabilities delivered under previous project phases to enhance command and control, situational awareness and targeting for the Joint Land Force. The system will enable the Joint Land Force to make faster, safer and better-informed decisions.

    About the Role
    The LAND 200 Phase 3 Systems/Requirements Engineer is responsible for:
    Analysing, identifying and eliciting requirements for a critical and complex engineering activities and providing advice in the field of systems engineering which includes ICT, software, networks, radio systems and electro-mechanical environments.
    Performing the systems/requirements engineer role in a complex and diverse technological environment (e.g. systems of systems, disparate networking environments, radio systems and electro-mechanical environments).
    Detailing engineering requirements using Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) and relevant requirements documents (e.g. functional performance specification) through analysis, engagement and consultation with technical and operational users, management, engineers and other specialists.
    Working with systems architects and engineering management to ensure alignment of requirements and high level design.
    With the systems engineering manager develop systems/requirements engineering work packages that meet the needs of the scope of work and may include:
    Contributing to development of artefacts as part of the capability definition documentation and management plans, processes and procedures.
    Contributing to the system architecture and systems integration specifications, plans procedures, reports and other technical material.
    Supporting the wider engineering, project and commercial activities where systems/requirements engineering expertise is required.
    Monitoring and ensuring that safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into systems/requirements engineering activities.
    Identifying and resolving systems engineering related technical issues and constraints, and advising the engineering and project management functions on appropriate courses of action.
    Delivering project outcomes that comply with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and Defence quality and configuration management systems.
    Working collaboratively, developing and maintaining beneficial, effective relationships with the customer, colleagues and other stakeholders.
    The position reports to the Engineering Manager, and may be required to provide subject matter support to the Project Managers and the Project Director.

    Experience/Skills Sought
    As the Systems/Requirements Engineer you are a specialist practitioner who works effectively in a complex environment, thinks critically, applies excellent problem-solving skills and manages competing priorities with a focus on mitigating risks for acquisition and adoption of new technologies in a challenging environment.

    You are highly organised, energetic, able to work with limited guidance, and outcome orientated with outstanding communication skills.

    The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
    Experience as a Systems Engineer having exercised skills in planning and requirements management aspects in multiple phases of a program (e.g. Concept, Planning, Development, Test, Operations).
    Experience as a Systems/Requirements Engineer within CASG or similar Acquisition environment.
    Experience in analysis, specification, review, and delivering high quality Engineering Documentation to support Government approvals and Materiel Delivery.
    Proven experience in the use of DOORS or a similar requirements management tool/system.
    Ability to demonstrate initiative, creativity and responsibility to understand and perform a range and variety of complex technical work activities with limited guidance.
