    The Role:


    As the HSE Officer, you are responsible for implementing and maintaining the WHS Management and Training Framework and upholding company Quality, Safety & Environmental Objectives.

    The ideal candidate will have exceptional time management, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organisation.

    They will be able to work in a team or independently and have a strong commitment to safety principals.
    This role will also be responsible for Return to Work.
    Key Responsibilities

    Providing visible support demonstrating commitment to WHS, leading by example, promoting, and supporting WHS activities and always setting a good example.

    Ensuring that resources are provided and that appropriate Safety Systems are in place and working to enable the organisation to comply with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and national standards relating to WHS.

    Demonstrate visible leadership of WHS on the shop floor on a regular basis to identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

    Establishing, implementing and maintaining the Safety and Training Management framework - ensuring the Safety targets are met or exceeded.
    Monitoring and reviewing the implementation of the framework and, where necessary, making recommendations for change.
    Obtaining and maintaining a library of appropriate Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, guidance notes, standards, and industry safety information.
    Ensuring Health, Safety & Environmental Complaints are promptly reported and resolved.
    Participate in risk assessments and assist in the development of risk mitigation framework.
    Conduct yard inspections to identify HSE hazards and report to the Quality Manager.
    Assist in the development of Safe Work Instructions.
    Return to Work case management.
    Cert IV in Work Health and Safety or relevant transferrable trade qualification.
    Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is desirable.
    Return to Work Coordinator.
    ICAM Investigation Certificate is desirable.
    Chartered WHSE professional.
    In-depth knowledge of Australian HSE Legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
    Knowledge of best site practices and safety procedures.
    5+ years of experience working within a HSE role.
    Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
    Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
