- Elicit and document business requirements using a variety of business analysis techniques
- Interpret business needs and translate those into functional and non-functional requirements and software specifications where necessary
- Ensure business requirements are communicated to both software development and test teams
- Work with technical staff and act as a conduit between business customers and technical staff to define /refine requirements and develop solutions
- Develop and maintain standards for delivery of business analysis function using ICT industry best practices

- Ensure timely and appropriate responses to system issues reported by staff
- Maintain a professional customer focus
- Undertake other duties as directed to support delivery of departmental priorities.
- 5+ years' experience in business analyst roles, including creation and implementation of structured internal service delivery processes contributing to the successful and timely delivery of complex ICT projects and initiatives
- Ability to proactively lead the Business Analysis team and function of the Digital Services and IT Group
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and PRINCE2 Project Management Methodology
- Significant Business Analyst experience in an IT environment with strong skills in the development of requirements and specifications according to industry standards
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- High level of written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex system and process concepts which both business users and IT Technical staff can interpret
- Ability to cultivate productive working relationships and communicate with influence
- Strong facilitation and elicitation skills to lead business in definition of desired outcomes, business processes and requirements
- Ability to conceptualise broader business issues, structures and operations
- Understanding of governance frameworks
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and experience in applying to an ICT environment
- Experience in an ICT operational environment.
