    Opportunity with Large Queensland Government Client Developing/analysing business requirements and process improvements Initial 2-Month Contract | $115 per hour | Brisbane CBD Office | 2 days WFH

    The Senior Business Analyst supports the analysis, management and delivery activities required to implement business improvement initiatives and projects within the department.

    In this role you will:

    • Elicit and document business requirements using a variety of business analysis techniques
    • Interpret business needs and translate those into functional and non-functional requirements and software specifications where necessary
    • Ensure business requirements are communicated to both software development and test teams
    • Work with technical staff and act as a conduit between business customers and technical staff to define /refine requirements and develop solutions
    • Develop and maintain standards for delivery of business analysis function using ICT industry best practices
    • Ensure standard of documentation and tools used to elicit and capture business processes is consistently adopted within the business
    • Negotiate and influence business users to drive efficiency through improved business practices
    • Liaise with stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies and operations of the department and recommend technology solutions that assist in achieving agency outcomes
    • Ensure stakeholders understand available ICT services and promote financial awareness with a view to delivering value for money
    • Develop strong relationships with business and technical staff on the requirements that inform ICT solution design
    • Negotiate effectively with customers to identify needs and business solutions and facilitate workshops to clarify and negotiate business outcomes
    • Establish and maintain collaborative networks with business and other stakeholders
    • Respond to changes in customer needs and expectations
    • Ensure timely and appropriate responses to system issues reported by staff
    • Maintain a professional customer focus
    • Undertake other duties as directed to support delivery of departmental priorities.

    Role Fit:

    The essential requirements for this role are:

    • 5+ years' experience in business analyst roles, including creation and implementation of structured internal service delivery processes contributing to the successful and timely delivery of complex ICT projects and initiatives
    • Ability to proactively lead the Business Analysis team and function of the Digital Services and IT Group
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills
    • Comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and PRINCE2 Project Management Methodology
    • Significant Business Analyst experience in an IT environment with strong skills in the development of requirements and specifications according to industry standards
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • High level of written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex system and process concepts which both business users and IT Technical staff can interpret
    • Ability to cultivate productive working relationships and communicate with influence
    • Strong facilitation and elicitation skills to lead business in definition of desired outcomes, business processes and requirements
    • Ability to conceptualise broader business issues, structures and operations
    • Understanding of governance frameworks
    • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and experience in applying to an ICT environment
    • Experience in an ICT operational environment.

    Further details:

    8 Hours/day - 40 Hour working week.
