    The Role
    You will be required to apply high-quality administration skills to support teams working on some of the largest complex programs in Australia delivering Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence capability.

    As an Administration Officer within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, you may perform a varied range of duties or specialise in a specific area such as human resource management, workforce planning, strategic communications, governance and compliance or general business operations.

    In this role you will:

  • Apply business acumen and administration skills often within demanding timeframes
  • Analyse and interpret relevant legislation, policies to provide advice or professional services
  • Draft documents, such as briefs, presentations, reports or ministerial correspondence
  • Build and maintain professional networks and stakeholder relationships
  • Undertake research or analysis, to make informed decisions and resolve complex issues.

    The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group procures and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.

    The right person for this role will be an individual who is able to collaborate effectively with the administration team, as well as with external stakeholders, in order to develop, coordinate and maintain oversight of the delivery of the required business administration activities.

    You will enjoy working across a variety of tasks within administration across a broad range of areas. You will be able to use your initiative to make informed decisions and solve problems relating to your areas of responsibility and undertake specialist research or analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results. You will support the broader administration team through reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training. You will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve the delivery of capability to Defence.
