    The Role:

    As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a vital role in managing and executing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
    2. Verify, classify, and post invoices to the appropriate accounts
    3. Ensure that purchases are appropriately approved and match purchase orders
    4. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
    5. Prepare and process payment batches, including wire transfers and cheques
    6. Assist with month-end closing processes, including preparing reports and documentation
    7. Facilitate communications with vendors related to payment inquiries
    8. Maintain accurate records and filing systems for all accounts payable transactions
    9. Support process improvements by suggesting enhancements to current procedures

    Requirements:

    To be successful in this role you will have:

    1. Proven experience in an accounts payable role
    2. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
    3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
    4. Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite
    5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    7. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
