- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Verify, classify, and post invoices to the appropriate accounts
- Ensure that purchases are appropriately approved and match purchase orders
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
- Prepare and process payment batches, including wire transfers and cheques
- Assist with month-end closing processes, including preparing reports and documentation
- Facilitate communications with vendors related to payment inquiries
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems for all accounts payable transactions
- Support process improvements by suggesting enhancements to current procedures
- Proven experience in an accounts payable role
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
