We are working with one of Australia's Big4 banks looking for an experienced Technical Support Specialist to join a customer centric and business critical team. Using your expertise in UNIX, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of technical solutions, aligned to customer and business requirements.

Day to day you will...

• Anticipate and mitigate potential issues impacting client performance, collaborate on innovative solutions, and provide project support in alignment with business strategies.
• Maintain system reliability through proactive maintenance, lead incident resolutions, and offer round-the-clock support.
• Mentor team members, fostering growth, and engage in continuous learning to stay current with evolving technologies
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rosters to provide immediate application support during service disruptions, ensuring service availability and meeting service level requirements.
  
  

We are looking for...

• Demonstrated proficiency with 5+ years of hands-on experience in a comparable position
• Practical experience navigating UNIX environments
• Mastery of UNIX commands, shell scripting, and/or proficiency in constructing Splunk queries
• Competence in monitoring and maintaining health-checks for UNIX-based environments, encompassing Oracle database and IBM MQ Series
• Track record of supporting both production and non-production environments, emphasizing high availability and disaster recovery measures
• Skilled in incident, problem, and change management procedures
• Proficient in effectively managing and updating operational and support documentation
• Willingness to engage in on-call rotations, typically occurring once every four weeks
