    Pharmacy NSW - Other Part Time Epic Pharmacy

    The Opportunity:
    We have an exciting permanent part-time opportunity for a clinical and dispensary pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Newcastle Private Hospital. You will provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients, ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines.

    Newcastle Private Hospital provides patient care for a broad range of specialties including oncology, cardiac, rehabilitation, medical, maternity, intensive care, surgical and palliative care.     The hours:
    This role is a permanent part-time position, working 60 hours per fortnight, with an additional 5-hour shift every fourth Saturday. The hours are as follows:
    Monday 10:00am – 6:00pm
    Wednesday 10:00am – 6:00pm
    Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm
    Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
    Saturday 8:00am – 1:00pm (only every fourth Saturday)

    In this role, you'll:
  • Provide efficient clinical pharmacy services to a clinical area
  • Be involved in contributing to the dispensary workflow
  • Conduct medication history interviews, medication reconciliation and pharmaceutical reviews at transfers of care
  • Be efficient and effective dispensing and distribution of medication
  • Conduct therapeutic drug monitoring, monitor medication outcomes and adverse drug reaction management
  • Provide medication counselling & education to patients
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide advice in regard to patient care
  • Contribute to training and educational sessions for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals
  • Support the quality use of medicines by participating in projects, audits, working groups or committees as required

    Who are we looking for?

  • Be a current AHPRA registered pharmacist with previous experience in an Australian based pharmacy
