    OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST – GRADE 1

    Occupational Therapy Department

    Permanent Full Time

    We have an exciting opportunity for Grade 1 Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic, passionate and supportive Occupational Therapy team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

    Our team is comprised Grade 3, Grade 2 and Grade 1 Occupational Therapists and is supported by a team of Allied Health Assistants located in a purpose built Allied Health Building / Community Rehabilitation Centre.

    The Occupational Therapy Department provides services to a number of areas including acute, subacute, Community Rehab, Aged Care and outpatients. This role involves rotations between acute inpatient units and the Community Allied Health Team. It also involves the provision of some outpatient services.

    The Community Allied Health Team are based off-site in our Community Services building in the centre of Warragul. The OT team is comprised of Grade 3 and Grade 2 Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary AHAs who work within a multidisciplinary Community Allied Health Team.

    Our departments encourage and support clinical supervision and professional development including dedicated, highly skilled and experienced senior Occupational Therapists to provide support, mentoring and supervision. We work closely with the multidisciplinary Allied Health team to provide high quality, person centred services to our consumers.

    Our preferred candidates will have:

    • Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy.
    • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy Board.
    • Membership of the Australian Occupational Therapy Association or equivalent.
    • Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
    • A high level of theoretical and practical clinical knowledge in Occupational Therapy practice.
    • Excellent communication (both verbal & written) skills.
    • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

    IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcaresector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
