THE ROLE
We are looking for individuals seeking shift work at Port of Melbourne. Specific duties for this role will include loading and discharging general and bulk cargoes, operating machinery, shipboard and wharf duties and basic clerical tasks. These operations specialise in loading and discharging general and bulk cargoes. Commodities handled include motor vehicles, machinery, steel products, containers, project cargo and bulk cargo.
The successful applicant will need to be prepared to work an irregular shift pattern with 24/7 availability and no set roster.
The successful applicant is required to have their full manual drivers license.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Full Manual driver's licence required
High Risk License in Forklift, Dogging, Crane (highly regarded)
Trade Qualification (highly regarded)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
Demonstrated safety behaviours and experience
Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
