    The Research Services Office (RSO) is located within the Research and Sustainable Futures Division and supports university research staff to achieve excellence in research. We do this by assisting staff in applying for major research funding opportunities.

    This role operates within a fast-paced environment, collaborating with researchers across all disciplines, faculties, administration and external funding agencies. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the administration of various external and university-based research grant schemes to enhance the ability of academic staff to secure, accept and manage competitive research funding successfully. Key duties include coordinating post-award management activities, negotiating agreements with funding agencies and industry partners, and ensuring compliance with contractual and reporting requirements.

    About you:
    To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant degree and have extensive administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. You'll demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, outstanding communication skills, and attention to detail. Your experience in managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, interpreting policies, guidelines, and agreements, as well as negotiating contracts, is essential. In addition, your expertise in conducting information sessions and familiarity with Australian Competitive Research Grant Schemes, particularly the National Health and Medical Research Council along with your proficiency in reviewing applications, will be highly regarded.
