    We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Lead – Orthopaedics to work for the Department of Health (Do H) in the North West region.

    Fixed term, full time, day worker (with on-call),position working 76hours per fortnight, for a period of three years.

    We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Lead – Orthopaedics to work for the Department of Health (Do H) in the North West region.

    This role will require the successful applicant to work with the Clinical Director - Surgical and Perioperative to assist with providing a high level of strategic leadership and direction, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised, services are effectively integrated within the hospital/service and the highest standards of service delivery are achieved in accordance with hospital/service policy directions, service standards and financial targets.

    In addition, the Clinical Lead will provide specialist orthopaedic medical care to patients attending North West Regional Hospital (NWRH), Burnie and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), Latrobe.

    The orthopaedic service provides both an on call and consultative service at the NWRH in addition to consultative services at the MCH, which includes orthopaedic day surgery cases.

    The current senior staffing consists of full time and part time orthopaedic surgeons with a supportive team of registrars and JMO's.

    This position will be attractive to highly skilled and motivated medical professionals who view challenges as opportunities and is driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems.

    The right applicants will play a key role in developing health care at both patient and system levels.

    The Do H offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School.

    As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.

    You will have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

    You will also have access to accommodation and relocation costs.

    Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $210,000 – Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $288,000 with further salary increments available.

    In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available, but not limited to:
    Allowance in lieu of private practice of 35%
    North West Recruitment and Retention allowance of 20%
    Professional Development Allowance of up to $16,000 per annum
    Fully maintained vehicle or allowance in lieu up to $27,535 per annum
    Salary range is in accordance with theMedical Practitioners Agreement 2022
