    About the OPPORTUNITY

    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Red Ochre Autonomy and Sensors Program based in ACT – Canberra.

    Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role will be responsible for effectively engaging stakeholders, leading a project team and managing sub-contractors / consultants to achieve project requirements efficiently, effectively and safely.

    Working across all aspects of Project Management, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading a collaborative and integrated team – with a best for enterprise culture.Additionally, we are seeking a dynamic individual who will be able to source market opportunities and contribute to product development.

    We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Planning and delivery of projects with clear defined scope of works
    • Leading the project team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements
    • Track and report progress and forecast final targets for cost and schedule
    • Fostering a positive collaborative culture between key project stakeholders and the project team including the customer, sub-contractors and suppliers
    • Ensuring all project requirements and/ or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued
    • Establishing appropriate key success indicators and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost
    • Maintenance of project management baseline

    About YOU

    • Tertiary Qualification in Project Management or Engineering (advantageous)
    • Previous experience in a Project Management role within the Australian Defence sector
    • Proven experience delivering successful projects in addition to stakeholder engagement and management skills
    • Previous experience managing successful teams in additional to subcontractors / consultants
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • NV1 Defence Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
